Valentine's Day Partner Yoga Sequence

Today's a beautiful, lazy Sunday after noon and we're moving slow. Rene and I just unpacked our bags from a short, early Valentine's day get away and It's amazing what stepping outside your routine can do to help boost those loving feelings. I feel so refreshed!

Valentines is one of my favorite holidays (made even more perfect with the birth of my daughter, Genevieve, last year) and my perfect date includes laughing so hard my face hurts, hefty doses of PDA, a variety of snacks, sleepovers, slow mornings and yoga. I think I've dragged just about everyone I've ever loved or cared about to a yoga class at some point because it's such a wonderful way to bond and spend time together. Did I mention laugh?

So I've compiled a short yoga sequence you and your sweetheart can to together. You can see from our big smiles that there's a lot of fun to be had. We hope you enjoy!

Sit back to back and try to synchronize your breaths. This might be a fun place to hold hands ;)

These feel so good! Take turns supporting one another and remember to communicate with your partner. Does it feel good? Let them know! Thank them for loving and supporting you.

Take turns alternating the twists in each direction. Place one hand on your knee and one hand on your partner's knee. Talk about the furthest things you can see and when you switch ask your partner if they can see it too!

Boat Pose. Enjoy the fun of getting up there, together! This is also a fun one to try variations. For example one leg up one leg down or even hands in the middle legs on the outside.

Let your final posture be a cuddle pose, whatever way you choose (I love to be the little spoon).

Remember, the most important thing about partner yoga is your partner! Have fun, laugh together and love one another.
